Below is a Map of Florianopolis island in Santa Catarina, Brazil, also known as Santa Catarina Island, or Ilha de Santa Catarina. My vacation rental property is located on Praia Mole beach (noted on the map in red), which is one of the most beautiful and popular beaches in Florianopolis.

Anyone who has visited Florianopolis knows that Praia Mole beach is the best year-round location on the island for both convenience and proximity to restaurants and year-round nightlife. Praia Mole beach (noted on the map in red text) is centrally & conveniently located on the east coast of the island. Praia Mole is popular for its abundant beautiful people and great surfing. Praia Mole is also in very close proximity to a majority of the nightlife in Florianopolis, with one nightclub (Latitude) just a 5-min walk away. The town of Lagoa, just a 5-min drive away, is like the Main St. of Florianopolis with a strip of bars, restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores, and one of the best nightclubs on the island. In fact, this is the only part of the island outside of Centro where you can find nightlife year-round.

Juaquina beach (just south of Praia Mole) is one of the best surf beaches in all of Florianopolis and is usually the site of the annual WCT surfing championship. The area surrounding Juaquina beach is environmentally protected sand dunes so there is no housing near the beach.

Galheta beach, just north of Praia Mole, is also a great surf spot and much less crowded than others since there are no access roads but it's just a 10-15 minute walk on the beach from my housing complex.

My American-style vacation rental townhouse is located directly across from Praia Mole beach, just a few minute walk from the sand. On the opposite side of the housing complex, just a 5-min hike through the jungle, is the most beautiful area on the giant lagoon (see photo at the top of this page, which I took myself from our dock). It's a beautiful place for swimming, sunbathing, privacy, and tranquility. My rental home has all the luxuries of an American home with wireless internet, a US phone line (unlimited free calling to the USA), a private Jacuzzi in the backyard, air conditioning, a washer & dryer, and 3 surfboards for your personal use.
